  • Ali Abdallah is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism Management studies at Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences. Prior joining Stenden, Ali was programme leader of Event Management at the University of Sunderland, England. Deriving from a mixed Middle Eastern and Western cultural background, Ali continuously aimed at combining his cultural background with his research interests. His research interests include Cultural Tourism and Tourism development in the Middle East, Tourism Diaspora Mobilities in the UK, and Cultural Traditions as forms of Tourist attractions.
    Ali completed a BSc in Tourism and Hospitality studies, an MSc in Tourism and Event Management and is currently completing his PhD in Tourism Management at Leeds Beckett University, England.
    Ali’s career in the Tourism industry started at an early stage. He became a lecturer in Tourism Studies at the age of 23 and a programme leader at the age of 25. He is a fellow of the higher education academy and was awarded the “Most Engaging Lecturer” and “Best Programme Leader for Student Learning Experience” at the University of Sunderland in 2013.
    Ali continuously engages in Higher Education research and recently became a member of ATINER’s scientific and organising committee, Athens, Greece.
