International Destination Branding

Branding Destinations, but with a twist.

Would you like to find out how to use large events, such as the Olympic Games and the World Championship Football to give destinations a unique identity? Studying such a unique module in a developing destination such as Qatar makes this module even more interesting. This module provides you with an insight into the theory behind and the strategies for developing a destination. You should also be able to work with instruments in the field of events, marketing, tourism and culture. In the International Destination Branding minor, you’ll learn how to formulate policies for the creation of an attractive image for a city or region.

  • Develop tourism products that contribute to a positive image.
  • Set up a marketing audit and create a bid book for an event.
  • Study destination marketing, heritage and cultural tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events), business travel and cruises.
  • Go on an excursion to a business in the industry.

The minor is worth 15 ECTS credits and is offered in English in Qatar. The course concludes with individual and group assignments and presentations.

Would you like to take this minor? You can do so if you are in the third year of a Bachelor of Business Administration. You will preferably have completed the Strategic Management, Culture and Heritage Management modules.
