Dr. Anu Jossan

  • Dr. Anu Jossan, who holds a doctorate in Economics and a gold medal in Masters of Business Economics, is a multi-industry proficient with more than ten years of banking, information technology, research, and academic experience. She started her career in a leading public sector bank as an economist, and worked as an economic advisor to the top management and represented the bank at domestic Indian forums. . She has hands on knowledge in Corporate Planning, Finance & Economics, IT governance, Project management and Business/IT process improvement. She has also worked as visiting faculty in Economics for educational institutions including the TKM institute for Management and ICMIS Bangalore. She is an active member of World Economist Forum-EVIAN, Lausanne, Switzerland, and the American Economic Association at Stanford University, as well as the  and Indian Institute of Bankers. She has published many research and academic papers on Economics and Banking in various international and national magazines.

Dr. Ali Abdallah

 
  • Ali Abdallah is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism Management studies at Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences. Prior joining Stenden, Ali was programme leader of Event Management at the University of Sunderland, England. Deriving from a mixed Middle Eastern and Western cultural background, Ali continuously aimed at combining his cultural background with his research interests. His research interests include Cultural Tourism and Tourism development in the Middle East, Tourism Diaspora Mobilities in the UK, and Cultural Traditions as forms of Tourist attractions.
    Ali completed a BSc in Tourism and Hospitality studies, an MSc in Tourism and Event Management and is currently completing his PhD in Tourism Management at Leeds Beckett University, England.
    Ali’s career in the Tourism industry started at an early stage. He became a lecturer in Tourism Studies at the age of 23 and a programme leader at the age of 25. He is a fellow of the higher education academy and was awarded the “Most Engaging Lecturer” and “Best Programme Leader for Student Learning Experience” at the University of Sunderland in 2013.
    Ali continuously engages in Higher Education research and recently became a member of ATINER’s scientific and organising committee, Athens, Greece.

Dr. Girish Nair

  • Dr. Girish Nair is the Program Leader of International Hospitality Management, Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences. He received his Ph.D in Management in the areas of Financial Accounting and Industrial Economics from Banasthali University (Accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade status) and Master’s Degree in Commerce, International Business and Business Administration from India . He has more than 15 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience. Prior to joining Stenden University, he held the position of Senior Lecturer in Commerce in an ‘A’ Grade College (Accredited  by NAAC) in India. His primary research interests are in the areas of Corporate Finance and Financial Economics. He has several international and Indian domestic publications to his credit. He has also presented his research in many international and national conferences, workshops and seminars. In addition, he has acted as a chair for technical sessions at international and national conferences. He is also an International Examiner for Ph.D research at Bharathiar University and Karunya University, India. Dr. Nair  is one of the Principal Investigators on NPRP research projects funded by QNRF in collaboration with Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences and Edinburgh Napier University, UK.

Dr. Nandini Alinier

  • Dr Nandini Alinier joined Stenden Qatar University of Applied Sciences, in October 2013 from the School of Engineering and Technology at the University of Hertfordshire, U.K., where she worked for 12 years and last held the position of Programme Tutor. At heart, she is a passionate educator and in 2006 obtained national recognition in the UK as the recipient of a Teaching Award from the Higher Education Academy Engineering Subject Centre for her innovative work. She adapted a practical assessment methodology used in healthcare education, known as the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), with Electronic Engineering students. In 2009-2010 she was nominated by peers and students for a University of Hertfordshire Vice Chancellor award as “Tutor of the Year”. Having worked with students from many nationalities in her previous academic institution, Dr Alinier has been invited to co-author a book (“English for Telecommunications”) as part of a series dedicated to students whose first language is not English and which will soon be released for publication. In her previous role, Dr Alinier has worked collaboratively with academic institutions in France, Canada, China and Sri Lanka. Thanks to her professional commitment and engagement in higher education, Dr Alinier was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.
